Adventurer's checklist

Are you going backpacking or backpacking? Great! That means you plan to take a minimum of belongings and spend as little as possible by choosing accommodation in small, inexpensive hotels or youth hostels and using local transport! So plan accordingly what you are going to take in your luggage!

Objective No. 1: Have the lightest bag possible

1 first aid kit, 1 toiletries bag, 1 mini sewing kit, 1 torch (head torch), water purification tablets, 1 water bottle, 1 mosquito net, a few cereal bars

And if you plan to camp, don't forget the basic equipment: tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, etc.

Bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, soap, hand sanitiser, a power bank, and a charger (solar).

Leave behind make-up, jewellery, designer clothes, or anything else that might attract attention.

Objective No. 2: Have the minimum equipment needed to manage on your own

Objective No. 3: Take the essentials and leave the superfluous behind

Take a minimum amount of clothing; you can always wash it on site:

7 items of underwear, 2 pairs of trousers, 1 pair of shorts, (1 skirt), 3 T-shirts, 1 rain jacket, 1 long-sleeved shirt, 1 fleece, 1 cap, 2 pairs of socks, 1 swimsuit, 1 towel, (1 sarong), 1 pair of light pyjamas, 1 pair of flip-flops and 1 pair of walking shoes
