When can I go on holiday? Do I have a choice between several periods? Am I flexible?

What is the climate like in the country I want to visit? Is this the best time to go? (weather, monsoon, cyclones, mosquitoes, water temperature) Depending on the weather, are some regions more recommended than others?

Is it the tourist season when everything is likely to be more expensive or hotels fully booked? Are the schools on holiday there? Are there any festivities at that time? Or, on the contrary, is it the off-season when everything is likely to be closed?
